The Guilford Project item 3

This manuscript is a fifteenth-century copy of a universal history from the Creation to 1354, written in Latin by Marco Battagli of Rimini who died c. 1370. The red ink colophon shown here states that this copy was made by Bartholomeus de Rubeis of Verona on 27 January 1439, in Enzersdorf [Enczestorf], Austria. The ownership inscription on the opposite page shows that this manuscript was owned by Andrea Maphei of Correggioverde in the diocese of Cremona in the late fifteenth or early sixteenth centuries.
