Provenance: David Garrick, bequeathed 1779.
Binding: In a 19th-century English gold tooled brown half goatskin binding, the boards covered with comb marbled paper. The coat of arms of David Garrick is tooled in gold on the flat spine. Authors, title, place and date of publication are lettered in gold up the spine. With comb marbled paper endleaves. Bound by the British Museum Bindery.

Provenance: Provenance unknown, purchased probably between 1813 and 1827.
Binding: In a 19th-century English gold tooled light brown half sheep binding, the boards covered with marbled paper. Authors, title, place and date of publication are lettered in gold up the flat spine. The foredge and the tail edge are yellow. With plain paper endleaves. MS. note ?‘201/10’ on the inner margin at the top of the titlepage. Bound by the British Museum Bindery.

Provenance: Thomas James Wise, sold 1937.
Binding: In a 19th-century English gold tooled red goatskin binding. Five false raised bands divide the spine into six gold tooled compartments. The title is lettered in gold across the second spine compartment, the authors’ names are lettered in gold across the third spine compartment, place and date of publication are lettered in gold across the fourth spine compartment. The edges of the boards and the turn-ins are gold tooled. The edges of the leaves are gilt. With plain paper endleaves with the book-plate of Thomas James Wise pasted on the pastedown of the upper cover. Signed ‘BOUND BY RIVIERE & SON FOR T. J. WISE’ at the foot of the turn-in of the upper cover.
